The Great Ocean Drive

This past weekend was jam-packed with activities. We finally did a bit of travelling. Our friend Keely is visiting and we decided on a whim that we would hire a car and drive on the Great Ocean Road to see the 12 Apostles -something that everyone must see before they die. The Great Ocean Road is dubbed one of the most breath-taking scenic drives in the world and they weren't lying. It did take my breath away. We did a 9-5 drive and it was just fantastic. We saw everything from vibrant green pastures to rain forrest to rock formations. Brilliant. Even though the view is amazing, the winding roads are enough to make even those with the sturdiest of stomachs, a bit queezy. I felt dizzy the whole way there. Even though it was raining when we arrived at the 12 Apostles, it was worth every second of it. It was so mystical and magical.

The last stop we took before driving straight to the Apostles was at Maites Rest at Otways National Park where they had this fabulous little boardwalk that took you into the rainforrest and through fern gullies. I wasn't as amazed by the rainforrest, but it was beautiful nonetheless. When I lived in Panama my house was right next to the jungle, so I've been there and done that. It was still pretty amazing being in a rainforrest in Australia. Australia is basically one of the most amazing countries I've lived in. I can't wait to do some more travelling around Australia when my parents come in December.

Australia is definately a country that should be visited before you die -or you haven't lived.
